Water of any sort - waterfalls, rapids, waves, rain - and a purring cat.

Favorite Vacation Spot:

It’s a toss up between Scotland and New Zealand.

Scotland because my maternal ancestors, the McLeod’s, live on the Isle of Skye. I felt right at home when I wandered around Dunvegan Castle during a visit.

New Zealand because I consider it my second home - I love the gorgeous geography and history. I also have an incredibly supportive bunch of fellow writers & good friends through my association with the Romance Writers’ of New Zealand.

Outside teaching, and in my “spare” time, I’m a NSW Rural Fire Service volunteer fire fighter, a volunteer member of the NSW State Emergency Service, with Community First Responder training, helping in Triple 000 calls, floods, storms, search & rescue and road crash in and around my local community. I also enjoy reading, traveling, photography, patchwork, knitting and gardening.

I’m a member of the Romance Writers’ of Australia, Romance Writers’ of New Zealand and Romance Writers’ of America; three valuable organizations full of wonderful people who have helped me reach my goals.

I’m represented by the wonderful Elaine Spencer from The Knight Agency.

I think I may have been a changeling as a child as I’m the only one in my family who enjoys the paranormal genre - movies, TV & books. My earliest memory is watching an episode of Dr Who.

I started writing stories at 11 years of age and this passion continued all through my high school years, encouraged by two wonderful English teachers - Miss Simmington & Mrs Jackson.

I share my home with 3 cats - Splat, Pandaemonium and Furball. By day I teach in a small 2 teacher school in rural NSW. But in the evenings, and wee small hours of the early morning, I create fiery, feisty heroines and strong heroes who demand that their stories be told - whether it be in worlds futuristic or fantasy, on a spaceship or creature-back, the characters guarantee an adventure from the first page to the last.
